EICV - Interactive Space for Life Sciences
The Interactive Space for Life Sciences - EICV is a museum recently built at the complex of the Museum of Natural Sciences and Botanical Garden of UFMG. This new space aims, using interactive models, games and multimodal interfaces, to increase the efficiency of learning and create new methodologies for science museums.
The installations use different input mechanism: cameras, wii balance board, kinects, dance pads, heart rate sensors, etc. I have conceived and guided the development of most of them. The space is divided into 9 different areas, each one dedicated to one aspect and system of the human body. Each area has at least one interactive installation, besides physical models, banners and videos. The areas are: Structures and Reactions, Digestive System, Circulatory System, Reproduction System, Cells, Senses, Nervous System.
